Resource Provision

In September 2023, we opened a specialist provision (classroom) allowing us to offer 10 places to children with Education, Health and Care Plans where their primary need is Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Our Resource Provision class is known as "The Hive".

As a school, we are committed to offering high-quality inclusion and feel that the offer of a Resourced Provision in school allows more children in need of specialist support to access it - but also that it enhances our offer to other children within our mainstream classes who have some additional needs albeit not to the level of needing a specialist place. For example, children in our mainstream classes who require additional Speech and Language support can access that intervention through the provision.

"Our aim is to provide pupils with high quality teaching and learning based on careful assessment of individual pupil’s needs and provide a nurturing, inclusive environment."

There are 4 members of staff who work within "The Hive":

- Mr Holley (Class Teacher)

- Mrs Lingenfelter (Class Teacher on Tuesdays)

- Miss Corrigan (Teaching Assistant)

- Miss Chatterton (Teaching Assistant)

The school day within The Hive consists of a combination of self-directed and teacher-directed learning. Significant timetable time is given to offering bespoke, individualised support in line with recommendations and targets from children's Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).  The children also have access to their own outdoor learning area to give children the opportunity to explore the world around them and learn through play.
